Are you a Physician Organization?

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada will only accredit continuing professional development (CPD) activities that have been developed by a physician organization. New definition updated on October 21, 2021. Please check on the definition of 'Physician Organization' before preparing your application.


Learning Events cannot be accredited retrospectively

Statements on any promotional materials indicating that an activity is “pending approval” are strictly prohibited. Applications submitted within 6 weeks (30 business days) of the learning event will be levied a late fee. MOC 1 Applications submitted within three weeks and MOC 3 Applications submitted within four weeks of the learning event will not be reviewed. Additional fee payments may apply for complex application reviews. The CME & PD Office reserves the right to ask for additional documentation to verify administrative, educational and/or ethical standards have been met.

Application Form

Complete the appropriate application form for your event:

Needs Assessment Summary

Identify the educational needs of the target audience and provide a summary document and attachments.

Program/Schedule

Provide - the Program/Schedule and include learner-centred objectives for both the overall program and for each session, speakers, topics, start and end times, interactive learning activities, breaks and social events.

CanMEDS Roles

Review the CanMEDS Roles to determine the competencies for your program. Please select the appropriate competencies within the application.

Budget

Provide the budget using the CME Budget Template.

Sponsor Letter and Written Agreement

Provide these documents with your application if there is sponsorship.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure Forms

Provide a sample of the Conflict of Interest form.

Brochure/Promotional Materials

Provide all promotional materials, i.e. brochures, invitations, emails, website links. Brochures, agendas or programs must detail the topics, learning objects, speaker details, date and location of the event.

Certificate of Attendance

Provide certificate template for the program

Fee Confirmation Form

Complete Fee Confirmation Form. Once the fee is confirmed, you will receive the Fee Payment Form.

  • Application Deadline: MOC 1 received within three weeks and MOC 3 received within four weeks of the program start date will not be accepted.
  • Fees are not refunded for applications not approved or withdrawn after submission

Receipt

Receipt of your application will be confirmed. Missing documentation or revisions may be required.

Status

You will be notified of the status of your application by email.

Letter of Approval

Successful applications will receive a letter of approval.

RCPSC Notification

The Office of CME&PD will notify the RCPSC of your accredited event. 

5

Certificate of Attendance

The applicant is responsible for providing the Certificate of Attendance to participants.
