Calgary Pride Parade

Location: Calgary, Alberta.

Dates: Project is ongoing – occurs annually. Please note – due to COVID-19, the 2020 Calgary Pride Parade has been cancelled. 

Project description:

To support our local LGBTQ communities, our office coordinates annual involvement in the Calgary Pride Parade. Every year, our students, faculty and staff members take part in planning sessions with the UCalgary communications team, and also volunteer to help coordinate the event. Student volunteers hand out t-shirts and engage with attendees, and also participate in the parade itself - representing the University and showcasing support for Calgary’s LGBTQ communities.

Since commencing our involvement in the parade, more than 100+ students have volunteered and more than 1000 community members have been engaged.
