Biography
Dr. Koch is a clinician-investigator in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and Hotchkiss Brain Institute. He completed his medical school at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg and the Medical University of Lübeck (both in his native Germany). He completed his neurology residency and PhD training at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
He is a physician in the Multiple Sclerosis Program and treats patients with all forms of multiple sclerosis and related diseases at the Foothills Medical Centre Multiple Sclerosis clinic. His research is focused on the progressive forms of the disease, in particular in using generic drugs to prevent or reduce the worsening of disability in people with progressive multiple sclerosis. This work includes conducting clinical trials as well as research to improve outcomes measurement and clinical trial design in all forms of multiple sclerosis.
