Early Inflammatory Arthritis Clinic
The Early Inflammatory Arthritis Clinic specializes in the treatment of arthritis that has been present for one year or less. There is a growing body of evidence that early diagnosis and treatment of arthritis can prevent long-term damage. Our clinic takes a patient-centred approach to help quickly diagnose and begin treatment, providing the opportunity for rapid symptom control and improved long term functional outcome. Appointments are available by referral only.
Patients accessing our clinic may receive care from pharmacists, physiotherapists, registered nurses (RNs), rheumatologists, social workers. This clinic is active in clinical trials, and opportunities for participation may be available. Interpreter/translation services are available upon request, please inquire before your scheduled appointment.
Preparing for your visit
Use the following resources to plan and prepare for your clinic visit.
When visiting our clinic for your appointment, please ensure to bring valid government issued identification and your Alberta Health Care card. Also bring a list of the medications you are currently taking (including any vitamins or supplements). To help make your physical examination more comfortable, bring a change of clothes (shorts, sports bra, tank top, etc.).
The doctor you see may be accompanied by medical students or other trainees. If you are uncomfortable with this, please let us know before your visit.
Our clinic is practicing all COVID-19 public health guidelines set forth by Alberta Health Services (AHS). This includes in-clinic social distancing and limiting the number of designated family/support persons who can accompany you.
