Biography

Dr. Davenport graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and neurosciences. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois as well, and moved on to complete his neurology residency at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Davenport then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in the area of neurophysiology and pain in the Department of Physiology at the University of Toronto, before entering practice as a general adult neurologist. He recently joined the Division of Neurology along with his wife, Dr. Tamara Pringsheim.

Dr. Davenport is interested in the molecular basis of neurological disease, with a focus on the clinical treatment of multiple sclerosis and pain, headache in particular.  In addition to his clinical activities, he enjoys the opportunity to teach undergraduate medical students and the public, and feels privileged in his role as physician to learn from his patients.  He has also collaborated with his wife and mentors on several research papers over the years.
