The Department of Critical Care Medicine Research
We are a Calgary based team aiming to promote and provide research excellence in critical care. Our team is primarily engaged in health services research and has experience in an array of study methods including, cohort studies, randomized control studies and systematic reviews.
Our Work
The Department of Critical Care Medicine | Calgary Zone works closely with the University of Calgary on research projects. Many research managers, assistants, and coordinators are employed through the University of Calgary and work with Alberta Health Services staff to work on ground breaking and innovative research.

Pandemic Research
The The Department of Critical Care Medicine Research investigators are leading several pandemic studies. These studies are led by Drs. Parsons Leigh, Parhar, Fiest, Stelfox, Weatherald and Niven. Thank you to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Research Nova Scotia and the University of Calgary for funding this work.
