  1. Recognize the pitfalls in investigations, technical and surgical techniques that lead to failure of epilepsy surgery
  2. Identify genetic and immune mediated factors that affect surgical outcome following epilepsy surgery
  3. Find treatment options when epilepsy surgery is less likely to be successful or after failed epilepsy surgery
  4. Recognize patient preferences and perceptions with regards to epilepsy surgery
