Samuel McLaughlin (SML) Traveling Medical Education Fund
Now accepting applications for 2025. Submit proposal by January 20, 2025.
Applications are now open for seed projects under the SML Traveling Medical Education fund. Note that this request for proposals is for new projects only, not for renewals of existing projects. Projects are selected on a competitive basis annually for grants within this fund, based on available funding.
Eligible applicants are faculty members with a primary appointment in CSM who co-develop an initiative and plan together with partners from a learning or research institution in a low or low-middle income country. Priority will be given to current core CSM-GH partnerships with existing MOU/joint strategic plans.
This fund supports costs related to advancing medical education, building basic research capacity, improving clinical care team strength, and health service/innovation together with partner institutions from low and low middle income countries towards improving health equity globally. Funds may help launch new initiatives or extend reach/scope/scale of existing initiatives/partnerships. Funds are available up to $12,500 per project, and are primarily intended to cover travel costs.
Successful grants reflect priority areas of growth, innovation, or exploration as identified within existing core CSM-GH institutional partnerships or potential new partnerships. Selected initiatives align with the ILGHO-GH strategic plan and priorities, especially related to partnership (including co-development), reciprocity (bilateral learning, sustainability, and embeddedness within existing programming.
