Over the past 20+ years, the VIL has helped train many undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and staff. Many of our alumni have gone onto successful academic careers and others have excelled in industry.

Winner of the University of Calgary Governor General's MSc Gold Medal at Convocation (2005).
Journal cover for a topographic scoring system for use with MR images in acute stroke (Stroke 2010; 41: 455-60).
Best talk prize recipient at the workshop on Mathematics of Brain Imaging held at Simon Fraser University (2012).
Winner First Prize Medical and Biological Physics Division Student Oral Competition at the Canadian Association of Physics Congress (2012).
First prize at the Alberta Biomedical Engineering Meeting for his poster on surgical navigation software performed while an undergraduate intern (2013).
