Research Activities

Current research activities are focused on imaging in aging, dementia, stroke and related neurovascular diseases. While listed as separate research topics, in practice we seek to integrate knowledge across all of these areas.

Research Infrastructure

Critical research infrastructure and expertise supporting our activities is provided by the Seaman Family MR Research Centre and the Calgary Image Processing and Analysis Centre. Some of our key facilities include a 3 T MR Scanner, a 3 T intra-operative MR scanner located within a neurosurgical suite, a functioning focused ultrasound systems (FUS), a surgical suite equipped with an x-ray C-Arm, and world-class computational and data storage infrastructure.

Research Networks

Participation in research networks and external collaborations significantly augment our local research capacities. We collaborate heavily with networks who champion a variety of causes, from childhood mild traumatic brain injury assessment and treatment to facilitation of disease-focused efforts in multicentre clinical evaluations.
