Assessment and Promotion | Residents | The PGME Committee has approved the Resident Assessment Policy. Transfers | Residents | When a resident concludes that a transfer to another Residency Training Program might be beneficial, the Resident and the Program Director must be assured that the request to transfer is managed in an objective, fair, equitable and confidential manner. External Transfers The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada has produced National Guidelines for trainees wishing to transfer from one Canadian University to another. These guidelines are intended to provide a transparent process that is clear to both the Resident and Universities involved. Prior to engaging in discussion regarding a transfer, it is the responsibility of the Resident to review the national guidelines as well as his or her home school’s transfer guideline / policy.
