Overview
The Neurophysiology Laboratory performs specialized diagnostic procedures that assess the functional activity of the nervous system. Our work focuses on measuring and analyzing the electrical and physiological signals generated by the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles.
The laboratory is equipped with advanced medical technology, including high-precision amplifiers, stimulators, and specialized data analysis software to ensure accurate and reliable signal acquisition. These tools support both clinical diagnostics and research activities, contributing to a better understanding of neural mechanisms involved in sensory processing, motor control, cognition, and neurological disorders.
Our team consists of highly trained professionals who are certified in specialized neurophysiological techniques and are dedicated to providing high-quality diagnostic services and supporting innovative research.
Meet our team
Naureen Bhamani ENP, R.E.T, R.Ep.T, CNIM, CLTM
Naureen is a Neurophysiologist and Program Coordinator of the Neurophysiology Program at Alberta Children's Hospital, where she has dedicated over 20 years of her career to advancing pediatric neurophysiology care. Her expertise spans both clinical and surgical settings, including intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring in collaboration with orthopedic and neurosurgeons, and she has developed a growing passion for research alongside her clinical work. Naureen is passionate about combining direct patient care with program leadership, and brings both clinical expertise and strong organizational skills to the neurophysiology team.
