Centralized Educational Programming

What we do

Centralized Educational Programming (CEP) is dedicated to the development of high-quality, evidence-informed, inclusive, and accessible non-medical curriculum content for residency programs. Our work focuses on addressing emerging concepts and evolving community needs while supporting accreditation requirements and aligning with the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) strategic plan.

The CEP Course Catalogue provides trainees with access to a comprehensive suite of courses and workshops designed to support their ongoing professional development. Trainees are encouraged to consult with their Program Director to determine appropriate timing for participation during protected learning time.

Upon successful completion of each course, trainees will receive a certificate of completion. These certificates may be used by residency programs to document participation and fulfillment of required training. Trainees are responsible for retaining their certificates, as programs may request proof of completion at any time.

Planetary Health Foundations

This online, interactive course introduces the core concepts of the interconnectedness of human health and natural systems, the health consequences of climate related hazards, and the healthcare sector’s own contribution to greenhouse gas emissions.

Residents as Educators

This workshop provides residents with the essential tools to become effective teachers during day-to-day clinical activities, how to create a safe learning environment and provide effective feedback.

The CEP Course Catalogue provides residency programs, faculty and staff with access to a comprehensive suite of courses and workshops designed to support their ongoing professional development.

Program Directors are encouraged to guide trainees in selecting and scheduling appropriate courses during protected learning time, ensuring integration with program-specific training objectives. Upon completion, trainees receive certificates of completion, which may be used by programs to document participation and fulfillment of mandatory educational requirements. Programs may request these certificates at any time to support tracking, reporting, and accreditation processes.

These courses have NOT been accredited with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As a faculty, you can claim credits for this course under Section 2 (Individual Learning- asynchronous course) of the MOC Program as Unaccredited Activity: 0.5 credits per hour
