About the Facility

The Hotchkiss Brain Institute Advanced Microscopy Platform (HBIAMP) began life in July 2012 as part of the Regeneration Unit in Neurobiology (RUN) core facility infrastructure that consisted of two arms; a state-of-the-art microscopy facility and an advanced rodent behavioural and optogenetic testing facility. Due to increasing demand and success of both arms, the decision was made in 2016 to separate into two independent entities, HBIAMP and the CSM Optogenetics Facility (CSMOpto).

HBIAMP offers state-of-the-art microscopy imaging systems, specimen preparation (clearing/expansion) and tissue culture. In addition, we have multiple workstations for image processing and data analyses with commercial and open source software. Training, experimental design and consultancy can be discussed with our Imaging Specialists.
