Remote access to our workstations, high throughput systems, and satellite licenses

HBI AMP Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)

We have enabled Remote Desktop Protocols for users to remotely connect and use an application that is hosted on a workstation in the HBIAMP Core Facility.

Remote Desktop Protocol Apps (RemoteApps)

RemoteApps have been setup for the following Workstations and Applications:

Workstation 2:            MetaXpress

Workstation 3:            MetaXpress

Workstation 5:            Imaris and CellSens Dimension Desktop

Workstation 6:            Huygens Essential and Leica Application Suite X

IMPORTANT

  • Booking time on workstations through FACES Scheduling is required to ensure there are no overlaps as only one user at a time can use a workstation:

    • Book workstations as usual AND scroll down to select one of the remote options

    • Leave 15 minutes between bookings to make sure previous/next users have time to save all data and log off

  • Do not connect before/after your time as it will disconnect current user:

    • If you connect and another session is running, contact user by email via Faces

    • If you get disconnected during your session, reconnect and your session should still be active (please let AMP staff know of the issue)

  • Please ensure you finish punctually and have sufficient time to save your data:

    • Save a copy of your data to your PC, personal OneDrive or other cloud storage

    • Data will be cleaned periodically to ensure users have enough space to work

  • For Workstations 5 and 6: Run your experiments off the “LiveTempData” drive. These are NVMe drives with fast read/write speeds. As the name suggests, this is a temp drive meant for working. Backup your data.

HBI AMP Satellite Licenses

Imaris 2-day Satellite Licenses

To support research and communities during the pandemic, Bitplane offers temporary 2-days licenses that can be installed on your home computers (see system requirements).

To get a temporary license, please follow the steps below:

  1. Contact us to receive your order-ID and to coordinate bookings on Faces Scheduling.
