Locum General Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services – Calgary Zone, invite applications for a locum clinical position as a general otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon.

Qualifications include an MD and Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta. The position will commence August 1, 2021, and end December 31, 2021.


Locum Pediatric Ophthalmologist

The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services – Calgary Zone, and the University of Calgary are seeking a Locum for a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Alberta Children’s Hospital to cover the practice of a surgeon on leave from May 2021 to March 2022. Requirements include an MD, a fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Ophthalmology, and extra fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in Alberta.


Assistant Program Director – Assessment

The Assistant Program Director – Assessment will help guide the transition and implementation process for Competence by Design (CBD) within the Surgical Foundations program at the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine. The director will ensure, in collaboration with the Program Director of the Surgical Foundations Program, that all aspects of CBD implementation are carried out within the program. This position is a two-year term.

The Assistant Program Director – Assessment must be an actively practicing surgeon from any of the surgical departments who have residents in the Surgical Foundations program. Preference will be given to those who have a demonstrated interest in education and administration. They should also have strong organization, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a solid foundational knowledge of the CBD and CBME principles.


Locum Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon or Spine Neurosurgeon

Application Deadline:  May 14, 2021

The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services-Calgary Zone, and the University of Calgary invite applications for a spine fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon to work at the Foothills Medical Centre. This is a locum position covering the practice of a surgeon on leave from October 1, 2021, to September 1, 2022.

Qualifications include an MD, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in either Orthopaedic Surgery or Neurosurgery, subspecialty training in spine surgery, and eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta.
