Office of Surgical Education | UME

The Department of Surgery invites medical students to join us during their clerkship rotation and for clerkship electives and visiting clerkship electives. During your time with us, you will gain a variety of experience, work with our surgeons, fellows, and residents, and attend one or more of the five Calgary hospitals. Rotations are two and four-week blocks, and electives range in duration from one to two weeks. We offer a modern curriculum that provides an integrated experience for the student, and we are pleased to provide these opportunities for University of Calgary students and visiting students.

• General Surgery / General Surgery Oncology
• Orthopaedic Surgery
• Plastic Surgery
• Thoracic Surgery
• Urology
• Vascular Surgery
