Endocrinology
Our Section provides consulting services to the children of southern Alberta for a wide range of endocrine conditions.
Referrals for conditions requiring complex investigations, intense endocrine follow up, or a multidisciplinary approach are seen at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, while other referrals may be seen by a community-based pediatric endocrinologist.

We are actively engaged in clinical research on Type 1 diabetes, including diabetes prevention trials in partnership with Trial Net, studies on improving the transition to adult care, and early detection of diabetes complication, specifically neuropathy. We are also involved in collaborative studies in treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and bone health in children with Turner syndrome.
