Message from the Section Chief

The Section of Podiatric Surgery provides specialized foot and ankle surgical care across the Calgary Corridor. Our 14 surgeons deliver care across all five hospitals, treating a broad range of conditions, including trauma, deformity, sports injuries, diabetic foot disease, and complex foot and ankle reconstruction.

A major focus of our practice is limb preservation and limb salvage surgery for patients with complex diabetic foot disease. We work closely with vascular surgery and other medical and surgical specialties to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care focused on preserving function, preventing amputations, and improving patient outcomes.

Our commitment to limb preservation is supported through the Zivot Limb Preservation Centre, which brings together specialized expertise in diabetic foot management, reconstruction, wound care, and limb-threatening conditions.

As an academic section, we are committed to advancing clinical care through education, research, and innovation in podiatric surgery and foot and ankle reconstruction.
