Education

The Section of Transplant Surgery is committed to the education of young medical professionals who aspire to become part of the medical system in Canada or internationally. We also participate in the education of health professionals, such as nurses and technicians.

Undergraduate Medical Education

We continue to train General Surgery Residents in transplant, vascular access and peritoneal catheter surgeries, immunology, and management of immunosuppression and immunosuppressed patients. We also provide rotation on a non-regular basis for medical students’ elective rotations with the section members.

Graduate Medical Education

Fellowship Program

The section supports continuous post-graduate training through a formal and structured fellowship program. The Abdominal Multi-Organ Transplantation Fellowship Program provides an excellent opportunity for international medical graduates wishing to pursue training in transplant surgery.
