Purpose of Grand Rounds

Departmental Grand Rounds provide an opportunity for the wider Department of Family Medicine (DFM) faculty, staff, learners and invited guests, to engage in any the following purpose domains.

1. to share, learn about and seek input on the academic work of members of the Department in the areas of:

  • Research & Scholarship
  • Innovation
  • Health Professions’ Education (HPE)
  • Social accountability

2. to stimulate debate and discourse over topical areas affecting the academic mission of the Department.

3. to provide important Faculty Development on chosen teaching or leadership skill areas (the CFPC Fundamental Teaching Activities (FTA) framework will be used as a guide to Faculty Development presentations aimed at Family Medicine (FM) teachers).
