COVID TESTING FOR PREGNANT PATIENTS
IN-OFFICE TESTING:

Call 811 for direction if a patient presents to clinic with new onset ILI symptoms

Patient can be assessed with PPE in the primary care provider prenatal clinic, a
nasopharyngeal swab collected, and the patient self-isolates until the results are available
COMMUNITY TESTING:

All pregnant patients at any gestation can complete the online COVID screening https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/COVID-19/Pages/COVID-Self-Assessment.aspx
EXPEDITITED TESTING AT PLC:
MFM arranged testing for pregnant patients who are currently experiencing symptoms of COVID- 19 and who are deemed in need of urgent in-person care in the near future. This includes:

Patients with symptoms of COVID-19 AND who are >37 weeks (therefore at high risk of delivery or presentation to triage in the coming days to weeks) OR
-
Patients with symptoms of COVID-19 AND medical comorbidities for whom obstetrical care should not be delayed for a prolonged time (i.e. GHTN/preeclampsia, poorly controlled diabetes) OR
-
Patients with symptoms of COVID-19 AND have a procedure planned in the near future (planned C/S, ECV, urgent ultrasound imaging)
