Clinical Research

Our clinic is involved in various research projects happening both locally and internationally for patients with functional movement disorder. This research is aimed at better understanding this condition, and finding new ways to improve outcomes for those living with FND. We will talk with your about opportunities for participation in research during your visit. This is completely voluntary, and will not impact the care you receive in our clinic.

The Calgary Functional Movement Disorder Registry

Our clinic has an ongoing registry project aimed at answering various questions about functional movement disorder regarding symptom presentation, gender differences, prognosis and outcome. All patients in our clinic are asked to participate voluntarily in this project, and you will receive information about this when you complete the intake form before our first visit. This project does not add any additional visits, but allows us to collect some information from your visit to help answer these questions. Participation is voluntary, but we hope that you will consider participating to help improve our understanding of this condition.
