Additional Information:
Ideally locums will come for 1-4 weeks at a time but we have had locums up to 3 months covering for more than one physician (consecutively not usually concurrently). Someone could work full time in July & August.
Clinic is open M-Thurs. 0830-1630 Fridays 0830-1230. Clinic practice includes work in the local 17-bed acute care hospital with an active surgical program and GP staffed emergency department. Low risk obstetrical skills are preferred for shared call but not required. The hospital has pharmacy, social work, physiotherapy, occupational and recreational therapy support. Emergency call is supported by local on call surgical and anesthesia backup, as well as on call specialty services in Lethbridge and in Calgary.
New practitioners are supported through the practice start up phase and practitioners actively teach and mentor medical students and residents.
