Overview

Sundre is a town of approximately 3000 people that is located 130km northwest of Calgary.  It has a mixed economic base of ranching & oil and gas activity.  There are two medical clinics in town as well as an acute care hospital with a 24-hour emergency department, a LTC unit, and a 105 bed Seniors facility.  The Moose and Squirrel Medical clinic is one of 6 clinics recognized nationally by the College of Family Physicians of Canada as a Patients Medical Home and has been recognized at the Outstanding Family Practice in Alberta by the Alberta College of Family Physicians.  It is a team based multidisciplinary clinic that has teaching and mentorship as one of the pillars of our practice.  Our clinic has an onsite SIM lab that we run every other week for our learners, telehealth capabilities as well as offering EDE ultrasound teaching.  We also have a resident-led satellite clinic in Caroline Alberta.  We run a nationally recognized Home Palliative Program.  We are part of the Peaks to Prairies PCN.
