Why Medicine Hat? FAQ with a current resident

My favorite thing about practicing in Medicine Hat is that our staff care about more than service. They are excited to teach and mentor.

Hidden gems for Medicine Hat include our flexible schedules, flexible time away, and easy access to any elective you can come up with. Not to forget how incredible our admin team is!

In Medicine Hat, we are a large enough center to see every presentation possible. We may not have cardiac or neurosurgery here, but we certainly see the patients before sending them to the appropriate site. We see trauma, catch babies, see inpatients, attend to the critically ill and assist in procedures of all kinds! If you can dream it we can do it!

Work life balance is going to be a struggle in any aspect of medicine. One of the highlights of our program is our scheduling and we are treated like people. If you need time away, we can find a way. If you need to rearrange, we can help. If you are getting married, let us know. Work life balance is totally possible, and we love helping to make it happen!
