The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) has honoured Dr. David Keegan with the 2015 Excellence in Education Award.  The award, first presented in 1978 and designed to honor outstanding teachers, recognizes an STFM member who has demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum development, mentoring, research, or leadership in education at regional or national levels.

Dr. Keegan (pictured with Dr. Sarina Schrager, STFM Communications Committee Chair and Dr. Sam Cullison, STFM Immediate Past President) is hailed as a leader in the renewal of Canadian family medicine education programs and is the founding editor of the Shared Canadian Curriculum in Family Medicine. He currently serves as director of the Department of Family Medicine’s undergraduate education program at the Cumming School of Medicine.

Dr. Keegan was presented with the STFM Excellence in Education Award on April 27 during the STFM Annual Spring Conference held in Orlando, Florida.
