Welcome to the world of Medicine! Work hard and look out for each other. Perfection is an illusion so be kind to yourselves! Stay grateful for your families and those who were big reasons for you to be here today!
It will be a great (and busy!) journey! And you are in it together!
All my best! :)

Congratulations and welcome! Some things you learn now will no longer be how you treat patients in ten years but as long as you keep learning, adapting, and staying connected to your medical community, you will keep current on the latest medical knowledge. I highly recommend using UpToDate.com (subscription often paid for by UofC). Also, don't let charting/documenting become your life. Check out how to practice sustainable (not burning out) medicine at the ChartingCoach.ca. I wish someone taught me this from the very beginning. Good luck!!

Welcome Lunkaryas from a 2003 Geoduck! I hope you build some great memories and amazing friendships during your time here. You've got this!

Good luck, Lunkaryas. I hope that you enjoy your medical school experience as much as I did. Aside from the learning that will come now, and even more later, relish the friendships that you will make during your undergraduate medical experience. Three years goes by very quickly and at the end, you may never see some of your classmates again. Use your time wisely and you will benefit from a lifetime of great memories.

Welcome and congratulations! Try to enjoy these first few weeks as you embark on this journey. It's quite the ride to say the least, but it's the start of a new and amazing chapter in your life. Being a doctor is amazing, you are going to love it.

You are only as good as the good that you are. No wait, wait a second - you are only as good as the good who wait for you. No, it is those who wait for the second best who waited for the waiters.
Have no fear. Waiting will not get you there. Count on memorizing and a high weight. That is how the 'the Class of '75 made it through. Bunch of Turkees.

Welcome to the Menagerie, ahead you have a wonderful journey. Med school is a terrific time to explore how to shape the lives of others, through the big and small moments. Know your contributions are valued and cause reciprocal growth. Take your time, explore all opportunities and be curious! We can’t wait to have you join us in the hospital and welcome again to the profession.

Enjoy the ups and downs of such a unique experience! Sounds cliche, but it'll be over before you know it and if you're like me, you'll end up wishing that you could do it again, later.

Welcome and Congratulations! Gong through Medical school may feel like having to eat a huge elephant, but if you eat it one mouthfull at a time, eventually things will start to make sense!!!! Please always remember the privelege you are now entering into. please remember that people are coming to you in a very open and vulnerable way, please remember the trust that people have in us and please LISTEN to the people that come to you! If we listen, we have the privelege of perhaps gaining some wisdoms along the way, and we can learn so much from our patients too!

Welcome Lunkaryas from a proud Poodle! I've had the pleasure of meeting some of you and hope to meet many more. This journey is sometimes overwhelming - I want you to remember that we all want you to succeed, so never hesitate to ask for help. Also remember to eat, sleep, play, exercise, and spend time with people you love - that's as important as the studying! I look forward to welcoming you as colleagues in 2026!
