The faculty provides a number of different funding opportunities for those with primary membership in Cumming School of Medicine.  Some opportunities are listed below but you are encouraged to also speak with your research institutes for more opportunities.

Internal Funding Opportunities

The OADR will provide up to $5,000 / year for Principal Investigators (PI) or lab members to obtain training in new techniques and methodologies that will enhance their research endeavors. The aim is to keep our range of technical expertise at a world class level to increase the impact of published work and future grant applications.  Proposals will be considered to support acquisition of technical advances to improve an identified future grant application or to rapidly respond to acquiring experiments requested by reviewers of manuscripts currently under review for potential publication in a high impact journal (Impact Factor ≥ 8).

This opportunity will support the Eyes High strategic vision of leadership in high impact clinical research at UC and promote the objectives of AHS strategy for research innovation and analytics.

Key goals for this fund:

  • To increase the number of high impact, UC-led clinical research studies
  • To increase UC success in attracting Tri-Council funding for clinical studies
  • To improve the Alberta health system and the health of Albertans
