V.133 Release Notes

V.133 of the UCalgary Web System was released last week and includes several updates and fixes. Take a moment to review the release notes for a full summary of what’s new and improved.

What’s Fixed? 

Bugs and issues resolved in the latest release.  

  • EU Cookie Compliance module updated to version 1.26.0.  

  • Addressed issue where deletion of pages will not delete blocks.  

  • Updated Webmail link in for mobile users and resolved issues caused by Microsoft redirect behaviour on IOS and Android devices.  

  • Disabled “Revisions by default” for Profile List Block to prevent unnecessary database entries. 

  • Fixed broken links in News feed blocks by routing /news/ links to news.ucalgary.ca through an updated ingress rule. 

 

What’s New? 

New features, block enhancements, and system updates from the latest release.    

  • News feed block caching update  

    • Due to caching changes in the News system, newly added stories may take up to one hour to appear in feed blocks. To display them immediately, site admins can resave the News feed block as a workaround. 

  • Updated to Drupal 10.4.8  

Other items from this sprint 

  • Automated test fixes and improvements.  

 

In Progress 

Work that is currently in progress and will be included in an upcoming release.  

Fixes  

  • PHP warning in News feed middleware. 

  • Resolve PHP error in News nodes. 

  • Fix undefined array key "delete" error in the Inline Entity Form module. 

  • Remove unused Comments module from News. 

  • Fix issues with node alias redirects and redirecting files in the file manager. 

  • Bug causing homepage URL aliases to break when pages are added to menus using the node edit form. 

  • Fix missing Block type column for non-Support roles and improve usability in the Custom block library report. 

  • Add missing menu options in Basic Page across all sites. 

  • Turn off revisions for the Undergraduate Degree Guide List block by default to reduce unnecessary database entries. 

  • Directory listing enabled at /images needs to be disabled to reduce security risk. 

 

Enhancements 

  • PHP Code Cleanup.   

  • Update PHP and node version in base image. 

  • Various Views Enhancements 

  • A new report is being added to help filter profiles by email, and existing admin reports are being updated to make them easier to use and navigate. 

  • Implement SSO to LiveWhale. 

 

Other 

  • Automated tests - Fixed taxonomy term casing in Profile tests 

  • Investigate adding Apple and Spotify to the streaming media block. 

  • Review XML sitemap module to address incorrect URLs, HTTP/HTTPS mismatches, and sitemap generation issues across multiple subdomains.
