Biography
Dr. Mike Chiu is a clinical scholar with the Department of Critical Care in the field of Cardiovascular Intensive Care. He is a member of the Department of Cardiac Sciences and the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Chiu received his BSc (honors) in biochemistry and joined the leaders of medicine program at the University of Calgary obtaining his MD and MSc in Biophysical Chemistry. He completed his FRCPC training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Critical Care at the he University of Calgary. Subsequently he completed an advanced echocardiography fellowship at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Chiu’s clinical interests and research interests include cardiogenic shock, mechanical and extracorporeal membrane life support, and cardiovascular imaging.
