Biography

Dr. Stuart C. Wiber is a community rheumatologist in Calgary and a clinical lecturer at the Cumming School of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology. As a community rheumatologist, his focus is on offering the highest standard of excellence in patient care using the most current advances in medical treatment, and establishing the appropriate multi-subspecialty and interdisciplinary medical teams needed for complex, chronic rheumatological disease management. As a clinical diagnostician, his goal is to establish the pathological cause for a patient’s symptoms, and convey that medical information to the patient in an understandable manner. This allows the patient to make autonomous and well-informed medical decisions.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Wiber has received numerous accolades, including the Colin Bayliss award for the highest ranked physiology specialist graduating at the University of Toronto; the Dr. T. Wilson Spirit Award for residency engagement and the Class of 1939 Resident Teacher of the Year Award from the University of Saskatchewan; the Jeffrey Martin Memorial Award from the University of Calgary; and the Lieutenant-Governor General’s Award from the National Theatre School of Canada.

Dr. Wiber continues to pursue teaching and mentorship opportunities through the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Calgary to help enhance the education and medical acumen of burgeoning physicians.
