Biography
Alex graduated from the University of Alberta with a BScPharm, followed by a Hospital Pharmacy Residency and a post graduate PharmD. She has worked in many diverse areas in community pharmacy; acute and ambulatory care. She has long had an interest in education and teaches students in the University of Alberta PharmD program and the University of Calgary physician training programs and various continuing education events. Her current role is as a Pharmacy Clinical Practice Leader for Alberta Health Services in Calgary where she works with pharmacists in many clinical areas, helping to build and enhance their practices. For her own clinical practice, she has worked with the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Calgary for the last 11 years but her involvement in Rheumatology projects goes back many years prior to that. Alex’s main areas of interest include advanced therapy for inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis prevention and management, pediatric to adult transitional care and vaccination of the immunocompromised.
Alex is also a member of Bone and Joint Strategic Clinical Network, and is a Clinical Lecturer within the PharmD program at the University of Alberta.
