Biography

Rebecca is a Research Associate in the Department of Critical Care.  She holds a BA Honors degree in Psychology from University of Victoria and a MASc degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Waterloo. Rebecca has over 20 years research experience gained in the fields of medical education, nursing, and critical care.  

Previously working with Dr. Tom Stelfox, Rebecca joined Dr. Jeanna Parsons Leigh’s research team in 2019, working on several now completed studies focused on improving ICU transitions in care, deadopting of low value care practices, and describing public and healthcare provider experiences and perceptions of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada.  Her current work largely supports a 5-year Sepsis Canada Network project led by Dr. Parsons Leigh and Dr. Fiest to assess public awareness of sepsis in Canada, identify knowledge gaps, and address identified gaps to improve sepsis literacy.
