Kathryn Strayer

Kathryn is a Research Assistant for Dr. Kirsten Fiest.  She recently received her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) in bioinformatics from the University of Calgary.  Kathryn is studying ways to empower ICU families to be involved in patient care, particularly in regards to delirium prevention and detection as part of the Transitions in Care program.

In her spare time, Kathryn is working on a project with Dr. Chel Hee Lee using machine learning techniques to predict disease outcomes in critical illness, and using recurrent neural networks to model hormone cycles.
