Biography

Sara Mizen is a Research Assistant at the School of Health Administration, Faculty of Health, at Dalhousie University and a member of the Calgary Critical Care Network at the University of Calgary. Sara received an honours BA in Sociology at Mount Allison University, and an MA in Sociology from the University of Toronto.

Sara’s past research has focused on the intersections of gender and work as they connect to emotional labour, as well as the experiences of racialized women in the criminal justice system. Since joining the C3RN in 2020, Sara has assisted with projects related to gender equity in critical care medicine, vaccine hesitancy, and pandemic preparedness and response.

At present Sara’s research focuses on Canadian healthcare reform, sepsis awareness and the impact of COVID-19 on children and youth wellbeing.
