Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) graduate Rahul Arora, BHSc’19, is studying at the prestigious Oxford University after being named a Rhodes Scholar. Arora maintained a 4.0 GPA at the CSM while a member of UCalgary’s Scholars Academy for high-achieving students.

Dr. Garnette Sutherland, MD
Dr. Garnette Sutherland, MD, was one of six recipients of the Governor General’s Innovation Award from across Canada. Among Sutherland’s innovations is the high field intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (iMRI) system, which is based on a movable magnet that provides surgeons with detailed, 3D MR images during an operation. This technology has been used to treat more than 40,000 neurosurgical patients worldwide.
Dr. John Conly, MD
Dr. John Conly, MD, a pioneer in antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention and health-care innovation, was invested in the Order of Canada.
Dr. Rachel Ellaway, PhD
Dr. Rachel Ellaway, PhD, was named the Canadian Association of Medical Education Ian Hart Award winner for outstanding contribution to medical education. She was also honoured by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s Duncan Graham Award.

Dr. Greg Cairncross, MD, was a co-recipient of the O. Harold Warwick Prize awarded to a pioneering researcher for outstanding achievement in cancer control research.
Dr. Chen Fong, MD
Dr. Chen Fong, MD, had an honourary degree conferred upon him from the CSM as well as Faculties of Law, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine and Graduate Studies. It’s the university’s highest academic honour, bestowed for notable achievements and recognition of community service.
