CLIC 2026 Call for Presentation Abstracts

Presentation Abstracts

The CLIC 2026 Scientific Committee invites abstract submissions for original research, scholarly work, innovations, and lived experiences related to longitudinal integrated clerkships and distributed medical education.

Submissions will be considered for oral presentations, posters, workshops, and Personal Arranged Learning Sessions (PeArLS) at CLIC 2026.

This year’s theme, Convergence: Learning through Connection, reflects the coming together of people, places, and perspectives that shape longitudinal learning and community-engaged medical education. We welcome work that explores how sustained relationships strengthen learning, care, and health systems across diverse contexts.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee based on originality, relevance, and scholarly merit.

Abstract Themes

Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts from a variety of innovative areas and aspects of medical education related to longitudinal integrated clerkships. Specifically, abstracts should be submitted in one or more of the following categories:

  • LIC model design, development, and sustainability
  • Curriculum design and innovation
  • Assessment and program evaluation
  • Learner experience and reflective practice
  • Role of community in LIC education
  • Indigenous engagement and partnership
  • Interprofessional and team-based care
  • Health systems impact, leadership, and policy

Presentation Formats

Personally Arranged Learning Sessions (PeArls)

PeArls will be allocated 45 minutes CS-minute presentation+ 40 minutes discussion) PeArls will be limited to 3 concise presentation slides. PeArLS allow presenters to introduce a challenge or a dilemma to the other participants and benefit from collective problem-solving from the group. They allow an opportunity for those who are developing ideas, those who are taking ideas from development into implementation and those who are planning evaluation of their ideas, to share, discuss and gain insight into their positions by tapping into the wisdom and experience of others.

Workshops

Workshops will be allocated 90 minutes. Workshops will have 3 learning objectives/defined outcomes that will be achieved through activities participants will undertake. These interactive workshops can provide participants with new perspectives or skills that can be taken away and applied to their own contexts. Alternatively, they can deliver core content, stimulate discussion and raise questions on a topic of general interest to the CLIC educational community.

For accreditation purposes, three learning objectives are required for each session. If you need guidance on how to develop clear and measurable learning objectives, please refer to this document.
