Welcome! Our intake form is your first stop for requesting support from the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) communications team.
We're here to help
Whether you're looking to promote an event, share a story, or update your web content, we’re here to help you craft effective, audience-focused communications.
CSM Communications manages a range of channels for promotion and awareness. While not all content is suitable for every medium we will advise the best fit for your needs.
Due to the high volume of requests we receive, it’s best to submit your request at least two (2) weeks in advance.

Social Media Content
Social media platforms are ideal for awareness, engagement and storytelling. We’ll help craft engaging posts for the Cumming School of Medicine’s social platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and/or Facebook. Content should be timely, visual, and relevant to CSM audiences. Note that not all content will be suitable for every platform and we’ll advise on the best fit.
Looking to start an account? The guiding principle for social media activities at the University of Calgary is to look for an existing channel for your content before attempting to create a new one. We have a number of existing channels within the CSM that may be the right place for your message.

Social Media Advertising
Paid advertising on social platforms is ideal for projects that have a clear, actionable goal, such as study participant recruitment or event sign-up. The CSM’s communications team can advise on how to reach targeted audiences, within your budget.
Media Pitching & Coaching
News releases issued by the Cumming School of Medicine typically focus on published research results, education initiatives and community engagement. For advice on news releases, media pitches and contact with reporters please contact the CSM’s media relations specialist, Kelly Johnston.

Web Updates
For changes or additions to your program, institute, centre or department’s web pages please contact them directly. To request a new website, or for issues with your site, please submit a "Website Request Form" on the IT ServiceNow website.
UToday Story
Have a story idea? The CSM communications team supports writing and editing of featured stories or announcements for the University of Calgary’s daily newsletter, UToday. Content should appeal to the broader university community and general public. If you have a compelling story for UToday consideration, please reach out to us.
Electronic Bulletin Boards (EBBs) and posters
EBBs and posters are the best communications vehicles for events, reminders, or quick messages. Share your visual content on the Foothills campus digital screens and/or poster boards to reach students, faculty, staff and visitors to Foothills campus.
