The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology provides advanced expertise in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of all conditions affecting the gastrointestinal system. In addition to our comprehensive general gastroenterology and hepatology services provided by gastroenterologists, therapeutic endoscopists, general and transplant hepatologists, and other colleagues we also have specialised programs of excellence.

The IBD group provides world-class care for patients living with inflammatory bowel disease with members being actively involved in research and education.
Therapeutic Endcoscopy
A tertiary referral centre for Southern Alberta and portions of British Columbia, we offer specialized endoscopic care across a wide platform for our patients.
Nutrition
Providing services that include inpatient consultation, as well as provision of home parenteral and enteral nutrition through the Southern Alberta Adult Home Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition Program.
Calgary Liver Unit
Providing research, education and clinical patient care focusing on liver diseases.
Forzani & MacPhail Colon Cancer Screening Centre
The Colon Cancer Screening Centre (CCSC) is a non-hospital endoscopy facility operated by Alberta Health Services, supported by generous donations of both the Forzani Foundation and Mr. Phil MacPhail.
Calgary Gut Motility Centre
Researchers and Nurses active in the discovery and development of new diagnostic tools and treatments for gut motility disorders such as gastroparesis, cannabinoid hyperemesis (CHS), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and anorectal dysfunction.
