Our program’s clinical mission is to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary care to patients with pulmonary vascular disease within Southern Alberta and Southeastern British Columbia. Our academic program strives to advance the science of pulmonary vascular disease, through education and clinically based research activities, with local, national, and international collaborations.
History
Coincident with the development of pulmonary hypertension targeted medical therapies, our program was started in the 1990’s at the Peter Lougheed Hospital by Dr. Sid Viner. We have now grown to involve 8 respirologists, 2 nurse practitioners, and 2 nurse coordinators working across 2 hospital sites in Calgary.
