Inflammatory Bowel Disease Group

Members of the IBD group are involved in all pillars of research in inflammatory bowel disease from basic science, translational, epidemiology and clinical research including clinical trials.

The Calgary IBD group is recognized world-wide as a leader in clinical trials allowing patients with inflammatory bowel disease to have access to promising new compounds for treatment. Other themes of research by members of the group are mechanisms and treatment of stenotic Crohn’s disease, optimizing therapy for patients with inflammatory bowel disease as well as the role of bedside ultrasound for the evaluation and management of inflammatory bowel disease.
