Message from the Division/Section Head | Dr. Doreen Rabi

Dr. Doreen Rabi, Section Chief, Section of Endocrinology

We are very proud of the work we do to ensure a safe environment for the care of patients with complex endocrine disease.  The Division has an outstanding group of health services researchers that work with patient communities and health system partners to ensure that care is not only state of the art, but also appropriately contextualized, recognizing the uniqueness of each patient we work with.

There are numerous world leaders in clinical research, including experts in the diagnosis and management of pituitary disease, neuroendocrine syndromes, endocrine hypertension, familial cholesterol disorders, osteoporosis, diabetes, endocrine disorders in pregnancy, and thyroid cancer. Clinical research and care services are collaborative and interdisciplinary, ensuring that we are well positioned to address complex issues that patients may experience during their care journey and provide patients with opportunities to participate in research and share in the discovery process.

The Division is dedicated to providing excellence in medical education and clinical training.  With a fully accredited specialty training program, our Endocrinology and Metabolism Specialty Training program has developed a reputation of being a positive and supportive training environment that encourages individual learning objectives and professional development goals.  Our collaborations with the Departments of Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Endocrine Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Laboratory Medicine and Pathology-  specialty learners get unique exposures and experiences that enrich their training experience.  Lastly, we are fortunate to have a very enthusiastic and gifted group of medical educators that sincerely enjoy their work.
