Members of our Division are nationally and internationally recognized as leaders in their fields of research. Research conducted covers all areas of health research (biomedical, clinical, health systems, population health) as well as translational science in all areas of gastrointestinal diseases.

Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases
This institute offers expertise in the microbiome, live cell imaging, and human organoids. The key subgroups our Division members participate in are:

Focused on the improvement of public health and achieving high-quality health care for all that can be sustained.
Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute
Dedicated to the understanding and prevention of cancer, identification and treatment and improving patients’ quality of life after this diagnosis.
Forzani & MacPhail Colon Cancer Screening Centre Research Unit
The CCSC provides an important platform for multidisciplinary research. Over 17,000 screening-related colonoscopies are performed annually.
Clinical trials are conducted through the Heritage Medical Research Clinic.
