Respiratory Medicine

Referral from a physician or advanced practice provider is required for consultation by a member of the Division of Respiratory Medicine. We are not able to answer any medical questions from visitors to this webpage.

Patients referred to our Division may have their initial consultation either in clinic or virtually (telephone or video) depending on the reasons for referral and their medical profile.

A good starting resource for information about conditions affecting the respiratory system is MyHealth.Alberta.ca. Further general details about the procedures performed by members of our division including bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, inhalation challenge tests, lung function studies and sleep studies can also be found through searching the MyHealth.Alberta.ca Test/Procedure Database. Information about various lung diseases is available through the Canadian Lung Association website. Disease specific organizations often are valuable sources of evidence-based information, such as the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation for information about Interstitial Lung Disease, and information about sleep disorders through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. If you have specific questions, please contact your physician’s office.
