Message from the Division/Section Head | Dr. Regine Mydlarski

Dr. Regine Mydlarski, Section Chief, Section of Dermatology

Welcome to the Section of Dermatology at the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services (Calgary Zone). Our Section provides comprehensive consultative services in ambulatory, acute care, and outreach settings. Our primary academic site, located at the Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre (RRDTC), serves as a tertiary referral centre for complex medical and surgical dermatology patients. Dermatologists, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals provide individualized and multidisciplinary approaches for patients of all ages. Our experts offer specialty clinics for patients living with immunobullous disease, connective tissue disease, contact dermatitis, vulvar disease, wounds, organ transplants, cutaneous lymphomas, non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers. Pediatric tertiary care is also provided to complex patients at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Section members explore new ways to diagnose disease, design therapies, and deliver treatment through basic science, clinical, and translational research. Our researchers, funded by national and international granting agencies, industry, and private donors, are committed to promoting discovery and implementing evidence-based knowledge into practice.

By educating the next generation of dermatologists, the Section of Dermatology instills its values of innovation and compassion into care delivery. Our comprehensive and rigorous training programs benefit medical students, residents, and fellows alike. The graduates of our 5-year residency program are trusted leaders in the field, dedicated to best practices in medical and procedural Dermatology, researching new treatments, and diagnosing skin, hair, and nail disorders.

We hope you find this website helpful as you navigate Dermatology in Calgary and the surrounding areas.
