The Calgary COPD and Asthma Program (CCAP) is comprised of a team of certified respiratory educators and respirologists. We strive to be a leading centre in Canada working with patients and other health care professionals to help them with their asthma, COPD, tobacco cessation, and/or chronic cough.
Our Certified Respiratory Educators provide education for patients across the spectrum of these conditions, and in close partnership with their local Respirologists to optimize a variety of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management strategies for them. This can include reviewing knowledge of their disease, inhaler technique, action plans, vaccination, exercise and rehabilitation, tobacco cessation, biologic use, and cough management strategies.
Referrals: We accept referrals to provide respiratory education for patients who have asthma, COPD, chronic cough, or require smoking cessation information. These appointments will be conducted virtually or by phone. Please fax or send via Connect Care a referral along with a copy of the most current pulmonary function test, if available. The Calgary COPD & Asthma Program no longer does spirometry testing.
Mission Statement
Improve the lives of those affected by asthma, COPD, tobacco/vaping/cannabis and chronic cough by providing respiratory health care and leadership through education and self-management skills.
