Pulmonary Diagnostics Unit - Dr. Amanada Grant-Orser

Recently Graduated Core Fellowship Trainees

Training Completed – June 2024

Dr. Na’ama Avitzur

Na’ama Avitzur MD

Dr. Avitzur is from Toronto, but is now a self-described ‘Calgary transplant’, having completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and respirology fellowship at the University of Calgary. “I love the collegial atmosphere in Calgary, the interesting medicine, and the exciting outdoor adventures.” Following her core respirology training, Dr. Avitzur plans to pursue an interstitial lung disease fellowship and a Master's of Health Science at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Brandon Budhram

Brandon Budhram MD

Dr. Budhram is a recent transplant from Ontario (Toronto --> London --> Ottawa --> Hamilton) who was lucky enough to swap the Great Lakes for the breathtaking Rockies. Outside of respirology, he can often be found hiking, cross-country skiing, or weightlifting. Unexpectedly, one of his favourite things about Calgary has been the vibrant food scene – from delicious hole-in-the-wall hidden gems to the hottest happy hours in town, he’s got you covered! Following his core respirology training, Dr. Budhram will pursue a fellowship in pulmonary hypertension and exercise physiology, splitting his time between Paris, France and Brussels, Belgium.

Dr. Daman Goondi

Daman Goondi MD

Dr. Goondi is from the ‘City of Champions’ (Edmonton) although perhaps it hasn't felt quite so ‘championy’ for the last 30 years given the Oilers' performance. Dr. Goondi obtained his MD from the University of Alberta prior to moving to Calgary for Internal Medicine and Respirology training. “Respirology training has been a phenomenal experience with a great mixture of physiology, radiology, procedural training and challenging cases.” Dr. Goondi will pursue a lung transplantation fellowship in Australia allowing him to combine his love for respirology, immunology, pharmacology and internal medicine.
