The Chronic Cough Clinic helps people whose cough is not a symptom of a serious medical condition, such as lung cancer or tuberculosis, but is still negatively impacting their lives.
- This is an Alberta Health Services program led by Dr Stephen Field (Respirologist)
- A Certified Respiratory Educator will help you manage and bring your chronic cough under control, in addition to providing consistent follow up as required
- There are Chronic Cough Clinic locations at the Foothills Medical Centre, Peter Lougheed Centre, and South Health Campus.
Referrals
- Discuss with your doctor about being referred to the Chronic Cough Clinic to see a lung specialist who specializes in cough.

- Your Doctor needs to fax the referral form along with a current Pulmonary Function Test and Chest X-ray to Pulmonary Central Access & Triage @ 403-592-4201, or refer via Connect Care.

Dr. Stephen Field

Stephen Field was one of the founding members of the Calgary COPD and Asthma Program along with Bob Cowie and Gordon Ford and have been involved in asthma and COPD clinical trials since 1991 and started the Calgary chronic cough program in 2006. He has authored and co-authored a number of papers that have been published in high impact journals.
