Referrals

A referral from a primary health care provider is required to see an Osteoporosis specialist at our centre.

For patients looking to come to our centre for a traditional consultation, for the self-consultation program or for a telephone or email consultation, please have your primary health care provider fill out and fax the referral form.

Wait times at DHOC (approximate and subject to change):

• Urgent clinic visit (e.g., atypical femur fracture, osteonecrosis of the jaw, hip or spine fracture in an untreated patient): 2-3 months
• Routine clinic visit (e.g. non-spine, non-hip fractures, bone density questions, metabolic bone diseases, medication questions): 18 months
